Working Together – Frequently Asked Questions
What does OopsOptimised do?
OopsOptimised helps small businesses get found and stay consistent online. That covers website design, SEO and GEO, email marketing and paid ads, social media management, branding and booking system setup. You can hand it all over, have it set up and handed back or learn to do it yourself in 1-to-1 online sessions.
How does working together work?
It happens in five stages: Discovery, Plan, Build, Launch and Review. We start with a call about your business and goals. You get a proposal with the scope and price. Work starts once that’s agreed and signed. After launch we look at what’s working and adjust.
Do you only work with businesses in Aberdeen?
No. I’m based in Aberdeen but the work is fully digital, so I work with businesses across the UK. Calls, reviews and handovers all happen online.
Are you an agency or a freelancer?
OopsOptimised is a digital marketing agency, currently run by me (Wika). The plan is to grow into a small team. Until then you work directly with the person doing the work. I never subcontract. If a project needs something I don’t do yet, I’ll either learn it properly before taking it on or tell you straight away and point you to someone who can help.
Can I pick just one service?
Yes. There are no fixed packages. You can choose a single service like a website build or combine a few. Either way the quote is based on what you need.
Pricing – Frequently Asked Questions
How much does it cost?
There are no set prices because every business needs something different. Your quote depends on the services you choose, how much content is involved, how many platforms we cover and whether it’s a one-off project or ongoing work. Get in touch and you’ll get a tailored quote.
Do you offer monthly plans or one-off projects?
Both. Website builds and booking system setups are usually one-off projects. Social media management, email campaigns and website maintenance are usually monthly.
SEO and GEO – Frequently Asked Questions
What is SEO?
SEO (search engine optimisation) helps search engines understand your website so it shows up when people search for what you offer. It covers the words on your pages, how the site is built, your Google Business Profile and the content you publish.
What is GEO?
GEO (generative engine optimisation) is about showing up in AI answers like Google’s AI Overviews or ChatGPT, as well as in normal search results. Google says its AI features don’t need any special optimisation. The same basics apply: clear, useful content that answers real questions. So in practice GEO builds on good SEO instead of replacing it.
How long does SEO take to work?
It’s gradual. Google says some changes take effect within hours while others take several months. It also suggests waiting a few weeks before judging whether a change worked. SEO builds over time and a new website usually takes longest.
Can you guarantee I’ll be first on Google?
No. Nobody honest can. Google itself says “No one can guarantee a #1 ranking on Google.” What I can do is fix what’s holding your site back and build content that gives you a real chance of ranking.
Do I need a Google Business Profile?
If you meet customers in person, yes. It’s free and it controls how your business appears on Google Search and Maps. Google only allows businesses that have face-to-face contact with customers, so online-only businesses aren’t eligible.
Do I need a blog for SEO?
Not always, but it helps. Your service pages can only cover so many searches. A blog lets you answer the questions your customers are already typing into Google. Each post can be turned into social content too.
Websites – Frequently Asked Questions
Which platform should I use: Shopify, WordPress or Squarespace?
It depends on what the site needs to do. Shopify is built for selling products. Squarespace suits simple, design-led sites you want to update yourself without touching code. WordPress is the most flexible and handles lots of content well. I’ll recommend one after the discovery call.
Can I update my website myself afterwards?
Yes. When I build a site for you, I’ll show you how to update pages, images and products before handing it over. If you’d rather build it yourself, we can book weekly 1-to-1 online sessions and I’ll guide you through it.
Social Media – Frequently Asked Questions
What does social media management include?
Content planning and copywriting, graphic design, shoot days and video edits, plus handling comments and DMs. The mix depends on your business and how hands-on you want to be.
How often should a small business post?
As often as you can keep up. Consistency matters more than volume. A realistic schedule you stick to beats a busy one that stops after three weeks. We’ll set a schedule that fits your business and your time.
Do I have to be on camera?
No. There are plenty of ways to make content without showing your face, like product shots, voiceovers, text-led videos and behind-the-scenes clips. If you’d like to be on camera, shoot days can help with that too.
However, its important to note that at the time of writing this (16/09/2026) authentic personable content, 7-12s short format videos, is showing the ‘best’ rate of growth on social media.
About – Frequently Asked Questions
Do you have a marketing degree?
No. I’m self-taught and my background is in architecture. So to summarise, in the most nerd-way possible, I’m interested in the research and enjoy the learning and testing. You get to benefit from it as I share my entire journey and everyday expanding knowledge.
Why is it called OopsOptimised?
Because it started by accident. My first ‘client’ asked me for help before I even classed the entire situation as a ‘client’, in my eyes I was helping a friend. They raved about it to a friend, who then got in touch. Soon other business owners around me were asking for help in different areas too. That was the oops. I took it and optimised it into a proper job and a structured way of supporting the business owners in my circle.
